It is with joy and pride that I announce the soft launch of Haus of Deluxe, on behalf of my sister, Leah Chappell (aka Leah Deluxe). This shop will feature accessories, prints, and clothing as well as household goods in the near future. This soft launch offers prints and accessories highlighting the inspiring Muse Series, celebrating the images of incredible and fascinating women who have proclaimed themselves artists, hood-witches, healers, writers, and the like. Additionally this month, in the difficult aftermath of a stunning election and the following spike in hate crimes and racial abuses, some comfort can be brought with this beautiful image honoring James Baldwin, as St. James. Despite his outspoken atheism, I do believe he would approve. In the spirit of equality and cutting through the fog of American ignorance and indifference, we are donating 20% of the profits from the sale of St. James to Defy Ventures, a program that provides entrepreneurship, employment, and character development training for currently and formerly incarcerated men, women, and youth. From where I stand, hustlers and entrepreneurs are essentially the same thing. I am so excited to show our collective support of this organization that helps marginalized talent transfer their skill-sets to the business realm.
This mini-launch also rolls out the beginning of a permanent collection. For close friends and family, I encourage you to consider purchasing a Founder's Pin which will help fuel this entirely self-funded endeavor. This run was limited to only 50 larger pins at 1.5" wide. They will be replaced by a smaller stainless steel enamel pin .75" at the start of the new year.
But back to Leah. She is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful people I have ever known, a rarity, and a treasured soul. She is loved and admired far and wide - and for good reason. I feel so blessed to have her as my sister and to be a part of making her work more accessible to a larger group.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for supporting this seed that I believe will grow into a large and thriving tree, providing shade and something to lean up against, not just for Leah, but for many others.
Best,
Karen
The site looks great and I can’t wait for my merchandise.
